Our mission
HYPE Freedom School is a community-based literacy and leadership organization that helps scholars, families, and emerging leaders build the knowledge, confidence, and relationships needed to thrive in school and in life.
What begins as a six-week summer literacy experience becomes a year-round partnership that strengthens families, develops young leaders, and connects communities to opportunities that improve literacy, well-being, and economic mobility.
We exist to close two interconnected gaps:

Through a culturally affirming literacy model and a family-centered leadership approach, HYPE ensures that scholars move forward rather than fall behind, and that families are equipped to lead, advocate, and partner in their children’s education.
