STAR is a not–for-profit organization serving individuals of all ages who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as providing support services to their families.
We create opportunities for individuals to live full lives with independence, freedom of choice and personal growth by providing support, services and advocacy. We inform and encourage the community to recognize and appreciate the value of all individuals. Our goal is the inclusion of all individuals with disabilities in their community.
STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way is a nonprofit organization serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism and their families throughout Fairfield County, Connecticut. Founded in 1952 by parents seeking community-based opportunities for their children, STAR provides a comprehensive range of services—from pediatric therapies and family support to employment training, residential services, and adult day programs. Through individualized supports, innovative programs, and community partnerships, STAR empowers individuals of all ages to build independence, develop their talents, and live full, inclusive lives.
