Connecticut Breast Health Initiative

The mission of the Connecticut Breast Health Initiative, Inc. is to make a difference locally in the fight against breast cancer through education and research.

THE END OF BREAST CANCER BEGINS WITH RESEARCH

CT BHI has one goal, one desire, to help find a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime.

Connecticut is ranked 35th in the nation for breast cancer mortality and 2nd in incidence rates. For a small state, that's a huge challenge.

CONNECTICUT FIRST

100% raised in Connecticut. 100% stays in Connecticut.

Every penny we raise, every dollar donated, stays in Connecticut.

This is the only program of its kind in the state. Connecticut has the chance to lead.

JOIN THE RACE. JOIN THE CAUSE

CT BHI's most important fundraising event, the CT RACE IN THE PARK, takes place every May on the Saturday before

Mother's Day.

Thousands join the RACE Day event in New Britain's Walnut Hill Park. It's a family tradition, a celebration of life.

It's the RACE of the year, the race of a lifetime.

WHERE THE MONEY GOES

CT BHI has focused all of its considerable energy and resources on education and research, funding forward thinking programs

that have yet to qualify for federal grants. It's happening where it matters most - right here at home.

To date, CT BHI has awarded $4.9 million in 119 grants to breast cancer researchers in Connecticut.

WORKING TOGETHER

In addition to the RACE income, CT BHI is the recipient of other organizations' time and fundraising efforts, memorial donations and matching funds.

They believe in the mission and support this work financially.
