At Guilford Interfaith Volunteers, our mission is simple: “Neighbor Helping Neighbor.” We live this mission every day through our five programs:
• Meals on Wheels, ensuring that those in need receive nutritious meals
• Our partnership with the Guilford Food Bank, helping provide food security for all
• Friendly Visiting, addressing the growing epidemic of loneliness through connection and companionship
• Charlie’s Closet, distributing medical equipment to those who need it
This year, we are especially excited to expand our impact with the addition of Chloe’s Closet. Inspired by the success of Charlie’s Closet and created in partnership with the Negron Family of Guilford, this program was born from a deep personal understanding of need as they cared for their daughter, Chloe. Chloe’s Closet focuses on providing pediatric medical equipment to children and families, ensuring that no family faces these challenges alone.
Last year our programs’ milestones included:
• Meals on Wheels delivered almost 32,000 meals to 260 Guilford residents
• The Guilford Food Bank served 690 individuals by providing over 25,000 meals
• Friendly Visiting provided over 2,000 hours of social connections to combat isolation
• Charlie’s Closet served 5,400 clients with 3,000 folks receiving 6,700 pieces of equipment
