The museum develops, preserves, documents, displays and interprets its exceptional Impressionist paintings, 1901 historic house, collections ad 152-acre landscape for the benefit of present and future generations.

Hill-Stead Museum is a 152-acre National Historic Landmark that includes a 33,000 Historic House designed by pioneering email architect, Theodate Pope Riddle as well as a farmstead and formal gardens. The museum holds an unparalleled collection of Impressionist paintings, Japanese woodblock prints, antiquities and decorative objects collected by the Popre family in the late 19th and early 20th century.
