Shag Bark Hickory Farm, Inc. (Shag Bark) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), in good standing with the Connecticut Secretary of State’s Office, located in Broad Brook, Connecticut whose mission is to offer permanent placement to semi-retired horses and equine assisted activities to all ages in a family atmosphere. Although we have been operating since 1972, during 2018, we officially become a 501(c)(3) with the desire to fulfill our mission and be able to grow upon this passion that was once started as a hobby. Our goal is to expand what we have been doing for over 50 years to allow us to reach more of our local youth and provide them with this experience at an affordable price.
