At My Sisters' Place, home is not just a destination. It is the foundation where dreams can become reality, and independence and self-sufficiency are within reach. Founded in 1982 as a a safe refuge for single women and women with children who had nowhere else to turn, My Sisters' Place has evolved to provide access to affordable and supportive housing, housing coordination, and rental assistance for individuals and families living in the Greater Hartford area. While the scope of services has expanded over time, the mission remains the same as it was over four decades ago: to end homelessness by empowering people through new, innovative, cost-effective, and compassionate approaches.

A Youth Program designed to meet the needs of the children and families living in our supportive housing.
An Employment and Life Skills Program to develop self-confidence and a strong foundation of self-sufficiency.
Security Deposit Programs to make home possible for low-income residents who need assistance paying their security deposit or first month's rent.
Housing Mobility Counseling to help individuals and families move to thriving communities.
Your Support Delivers Results
Thanks to your generosity, My Sisters' Place accomplished the following last fiscal year:
89 households gained permanent supportive housing and residential supports, helping them to have a place to call home.
92 households in Greater Hartford accessed security deposit assistance to ensure they could achieve safe and stable housing.
30 households participating in our Housing Mobility Program were able to move to thriving communities.
106 children participated in education and enrichment activities through our Youth Program.
Home is Possible - Because of You!
At My Sisters' Place, we believe everyone deserves to have a safe and stable place to live. But last year, 3,735 Connecticut residents did not have a place to call home. Even worse, 833 of our friends and neighbors were living outside, or in cars, or other places not meant for a person to live. Your contribution during Birdies for Charity provides a lifeline to those in need of shelter and support.
Please consider a gift today - it will mean more to those we serve than you may ever know!
